2nd Conference Information Architecture as an Academic Discipline (AIDA 2)

4-5 June 2020

About
the conference

For the second time, we would like to meet at the conference with representatives of institutes and centres offering courses, specialisations, and subjects in the field of information architecture (IA), usability, information graphics and information design. Employees of companies designing services and information systems, working in the UX/HCI sector, as well as students, including members of scientific circles, are also warmly invited to participate.

Information architecture is an area of research and a profession that deals with the understood design of information in a way that makes it easy for the user to understand and has usability features. Adapting the information message to the needs of users in a world of information overload also requires original methods based, among other things, on the concept of User-Centered Design.

The cooperation of all interested circles therefore seems essential for the education of information architects to stand out at an important level, which is determined by the innovation of didactic methods, the development of theories and scientific research that form the basis for thinking about the modern and useful shape of information objects filling the infosphere of modern man.

We want the information space to be an inspiring and beautiful place, conducive to people achieving their goals. We believe that through our conference and your participation, we will start a discussion on defining the paradigm of information architecture as a discipline.

Special
guest

Eric Reiss

Eric Reiss has held many eclectic jobs, having been: a pianist (at a house of ill-repute), a senior copywriter (at an advertising firm of ill-repute), a pianist and piano tuner, an adventure game developer, and a director. His experiences have served him admirably as a designer, content strategist, information architect, interaction designer and usability “expert” – although he can’t explain exactly how.

In his more down-to-earth life, Eric was twice president of the Institute of Information Architecture and a professor of usability and design at IE Business School in Madrid. Today Eric is president of FatDUX Group in Copenhagen, a leading UX company with offices and associates in a dozen cities around the world. He also has several books to his credit, including the best-selling Usable Esability, which is now available in five languages. You can find him on Twitter at @elreiss.
