Tools of the digital product designer

Anna Matysek

An indispensable part of the preparation of digital products is the use of computer programmes. Many tools are available to facilitate the work of those designing information architecture, interactions (IxD) and interfaces (UI) or conducting user experience (UX) research. In this paper, I will review paid and free tools needed at different stages of digital product design: user research and usability testing, visual design, wireframes and sitemaps, prototyping or project management. I will present their most important functions and, using the desk research method, attempt to show which are the most popular among digital product designers.
