Information architecture in authoring systems of presenting text-mining data from corpora and large bibliographies

Adam Pawłowski

For centuries, the traditional medium of communication in the humanities was text, while graphics, maps or tables were treated as extraneous interjections, tolerated only in transdisciplinary works. In recent years, this situation has been changing permanently. Big data analysis, requiring graphic communication, has become one of the most important areas of contemporary digital humanities. This situation, however, poses new challenges to the researcher in terms of communicating sometimes very complex content. The lecture will discuss solutions used in portals presenting results generated online from large bibliographic and corpus data (e.g. ChronoPress corpus and Wrocław BiblioData Portal). The presented results were prepared within the activities of CLARIN-PL and DARIAH-PL consortia and NCN grant.
