Learning information science in the academic education of information architects

Selected issues of information science in a key way build the competences of future information architects. Teaching specific issues in this field, however, should be clearly modified in accordance with the requirements of the recently created field of study. The paper will present the current experience in transferring knowledge about the basic concepts of science about information such as: users of information, information needs, information behaviors passed in problem terms at lectures and practical exercises covering basic information skills. Learning outcomes were analyzed based on the students’ achievements in the implementation of individual and group projects as well as written exam. The main purpose of the review is to indicate the elements that cause the most problems in the meaning of the concepts and to draw attention to the most effective methods of learning about information science.
