Education in the terms of Information Architecture at the Institute of Information Science and Library of Maria Curie Skłodowska University in Lublin – experiences and challenges

The article will present the Institute’s experiences connected with the development and implementation of the program of the new course of study, inter alia the expected educational outcomes, the teaching content taken into account, planned specializations, organization of vocational training, and the graduate’s profile and place on the labor market. Difficulties will be shown which appeared at the stage of designing the concept (inter alia the failure to understand the idea, terminology and specificity of the discipline by the University personnel) and at the stage of implementing the study course (inter alia the necessity of providing adequate infrastructure, broadening the range of the conducted research and improving the competencies of the academic personnel, seeking new forms of promotion of the new study course, or developing procedures for cooperation with the new category of external stakeholders), as well as the developed relevant practical solutions will be presented. The Institute’s experiences will be presented in relation to the general concept of AI as a field of knowledge and professional practice.
