The soft skills of the information architect. The needs of the labor market and the opinions of students

The aim of the presentation is to indicate the soft skills required in the job market in the profession of information architect and to present opinions in this field of students of the information architecture (further: AI). The starting point on the way to achieving this goal was definitions’ systematization of competences, including specifying of soft skills. Next, the job offers and profiles of the AI graduate were analyzed in the context of the desired soft skills. The results of this work were used to design a questionnaire to examine students’ opinions on soft competences and their usefulness in future professional work. One of the main effects of the research is to establish a repertoire of soft competences necessary in the work of the information architect, as well as to awaken reflection among students and lecturers on the constant need to develop them.
