Qualitative research as supporting of AI design

The paper presents the methodology of conducting qualitative research using narrative interview techniques, focused group interviews, usability tests by students of information architecture at the Pedagogical University (as participants of seminar groups). The research purposes are to identify the needs, information behaviors and preferences of selected groups of websites users (eg: students, people with disabilities, seniors). The main goal of the paper is to show the advantages of individual research techniques and the possibilities of using the results in making design decisions. The last part of the paper contains a short description of the subjects of BA theses in the field of AI and the didactic effects of conducting qualitative research.
