Information architecture vs. information ecology, or the potential mutual benefits of research domains

Wiesław Babik

The subject of the presentation will be the mutual relations between information architecture and information ecology. The aim is to show the mutual potential usefulness of the achievements of both mentioned research domains in their development.  Starting from the information provided on the subject of information ecology in the classic book by L. Rosenfeld and P. Morville “Information architecture in web services”, I intend to present the requirements of information architecture in relation to web services in this field. I will also provide examples of how the achievements of information architecture can be used in information ecology.
